Polished concrete requires periodic re-polishing to maintain its reflective finish, and the surface must be kept free of abrasive grit that dulls the polish over time. Natural stone floors like marble, granite, and slate are vulnerable to etching from acidic cleaners and staining from spills that penetrate the surface.
